The agency answered FRIDAY's questions in writing and made the denial public, which puts the record on the same weekly cycle as the magazine report rather than letting it stand unanswered.

Yellow Cab NEXT, the agency for voice actress M・A・O, published answers to advance questions from Kodansha's weekly photo magazine FRIDAY after an October 23, 2026 article described a dinner and private relationship between M・A・O and voice actor Kensho Ono. The agency said the dinner was coincidental timing and not a birthday celebration, called Ono a co-star she respects, and stated there is absolutely no romantic relationship between them.
The agency's statement addresses the dinner directly: it says the timing was coincidental and was not meant to celebrate a birthday, and describes Ono as a senior actor M・A・O respects and has worked with before. On the private-life questions, the response says she often played an online multiplayer game in groups of around five to six people, and that the group could shrink to two depending on the time of day, but she never joined intending to play as a pair from the start.
The statement closes by saying she reports and consults with the agency about her private life, and that there is no romantic relationship between the two. The response was issued under M・A・O's name and dated to the October 23 article.
