Compile Heart

Compile Heart released Villion:Code in Japan on June 24, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, and PS4. The school RPG has real-time combat and a story about environmental collapse and social issues. Its staff roster is the pitch: Kouji Okada, credited in one story as the creator of Megami Tensei and in the later story as planning producer; Naoki Satomi, listed as an early Persona writer and as scenario writer; and composer Tsukasa Masuko. Ilya Kuvshinov is the character designer, and FRAM performs both theme songs.

The Japanese launch drew a mixed play report, which credited the narrative and characters and found the combat and dungeon design underwhelming. That reception is the closest thing to a performance verdict across the two stories; neither reports sales figures or an update to the game's content.

The one clear development since launch is the western release. Idea Factory International will publish Villion:Code in the West in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. The western release carries the same Okada, Satomi, and Kuvshinov credits, which is the pitch Idea Factory International is selling to a region that has not played the game yet. Between the two stories the platform list expanded from the Japanese release's three platforms to five, and the western version has a year, not a date.
