Bandai Namco Filmworks will distribute the theatrical anime Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash: The Witch of Kirke on Amazon Prime Video in Japan. Rental and purchase distribution starts August 17, and unlimited streaming begins August 31. The film is the second chapter of the Hathaway's Flash trilogy, following the 2021 first film. It is set in U.C. 0105, 12 years after Char's rebellion, and follows Hathaway Noah, leader of the anti-Earth Federation movement Mafty, as he prepares to attack the Adelaide conference. The story also centers on Kenneth Sleg of the Federation Forces, who plans to annihilate Mafty, and Gigi Andalusia, a girl with mysterious powers who departs for Hong Kong. The film was released in Japanese theaters on January 30 and has earned 2.7 billion yen at the box office, surpassing its predecessor. Kensho Ono voices Hathaway, Reina Ueda voices Gigi, and Junichi Suwabe voices Kenneth. Shukou Murase directs, Yasuyuki Muto writes the screenplay, and Hiroyuki Sawano composes the music. The opening theme is SZA's 'Snooze' and the ending theme is Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. Prime Video also offers the first Hathaway's Flash film and Char's Counterattack.
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the paid DLC "Anniversary Expansion Pack: Accelerating Future" for Super Robot Wars Y during a livestream held on August 1, 2026, to mark the 35th anniversary of the Super Robot Wars series. The expansion is scheduled for release on August 5, 2026, with pricing still unannounced. The DLC adds 33 area missions combining the main story and frontline missions, along with combination attacks and additional weapons that cross the boundaries between participating works. The content takes place after clearing the main story, and in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Gundam Calibarn appears as part of the Season 2 storyline. This is described as the last additional DLC for Super Robot Wars Y, which is available on PC, PS5, and Switch. The same livestream also confirmed development of a remaster of the 2011 PSP title 2nd Super Robot Wars Z: Hakai-hen, though platform and release date details were not disclosed. A free update, version 1.4.0, is scheduled for August 4.
Premium Bandai opened reservations on July 31 at 11:00 for six Gunpla kits scheduled to ship in October 2026. The lineup spans multiple Gundam series and scales, with prices ranging from 2,090 to 5,500 yen. From "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Gekko," the HG 1/144 Ortlinde returns with new molding for its outer armor and Valkyria Double Blade armament. The HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial Permet Score Six, from "The Witch from Mercury," reproduces the blue-glowing chest shell unit with in-mold molding. The HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Anavata, from the side story "Vanadis Heart," includes the lightning blade-type Gund-bit "Narukami." The SD lineup features the Tenrei Gundam Musha Reissue Kira Gane Ver. with in-mold Kira Gane parts, and the LEGENDBB Hikoboshi Taishogun with plating and clear lamé. The MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 2nd Unit, from "AGE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS," includes a new marking seal designed by Kanetake Ebikawa. All six kits are scheduled for October 2026 shipment.
Bandai Spirits announced three new Figuarts mini figures from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny on July 28, 2026. Shin Asuka, Lunamaria Hawke, and Cagalli Yula Athha join the palm-sized deformed figure line. Pre-orders open at general retail stores on August 3, 2026. Each figure stands approximately 90mm tall and costs 3,850 yen including tax. Shin Asuka appears in his ZAFT pilot suit with an interchangeable right wrist part. Lunamaria Hawke also wears a ZAFT pilot suit and can hold a helmet with swappable arms. Cagalli Yula Athha is sculpted in her suit as Orb's chief representative, with interchangeable left and right arm parts. Alongside the three new releases, Bandai Spirits is re-releasing three earlier Figuarts mini figures from the same series: Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, and Lacus Clyne. The new figures ship in January 2027, while the re-releases arrive in December 2026. The announcement follows a wave of Gundam SEED merchandise news on the same day, including a new S.H.Figuarts Kira Yamato action figure and a METAL BUILD METEOR that sold out instantly.
