Players scratch an itch without being noticed across six locations, including a school classroom, a job interview, and a presidential press briefing. The game supports up to four players plus bots, and VR. It costs 499 yen, with 15 percent off through September 25. Post-release updates will add maps and a story about the itch's origin.
coly announced on September 11 that the planned service start for Disney Sparklink Stars, its smartphone game using Disney IP, has moved to November 2026. The developer said it extended the development period to deliver a higher-quality experience. The date may shift again depending on development progress. The training adventure game casts players as a Conductor training 15 Spark Riders, and is planned for iOS and Android as a free-to-play title with pre-registration open.
G.O.P. announced on September 11 its game balance policy for AVA RE:BIRTH, a new PC online FPS using the Alliance of Valiant Arms IP. The game is scheduled to launch in fall 2026 on Windows PC through Pmang and VFUN. G.O.P. says the priority is an environment where players feel their skill and understanding deepen through repeated play, with results from strategic judgment and equipment upgrades mattering beyond aim strength. Weapon balance is being rebuilt so assault rifles, submachine guns, and sniper rifles keep distinct feels, after what G.O.P. describes as homogenized play feel from performance inflation. Damage is adjusted to extend engagement time, so recoil control and positioning decide fights rather than the first shot. The three classic classes return: Pointman, Rifleman, and Sniper. G.O.P. says it is making strict adjustments so paid items and earnable items do not create a large performance gap. A preliminary test is under consideration, with the next concrete development to be announced soon.
UGREEN Japan held an ambassador and new CM announcement event on September 11, appointing actor Kento Yamazaki as the brand's new ambassador. The event showed the new CM and a product lineup that includes the Nexode Air Series, MagFlow Pro Series, Nexode Pro Series, NASync DXP GT Series and AI NAS iDX Series. Yamazaki received a UGREEN AI NAS as a birthday surprise.
REMOW announced on September 11 that the PSYREN television anime will premiere on October 5, with CLAN QUEEN performing the opening theme "WARNING!!" and two voice actors joining the cast. Yuko Kaida plays Matsuri Yagumo, Sakurako Amamiya's mentor, and Nobuyuki Hiyama plays Dolkey, an antagonist who confronts Ageha Yoshina and the others. The existing cast includes Rikuya Yasuda as Ageha Yoshina, Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Hiryu Asaga, Soma Saito as Oboro Mochizuki, and Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kabuto Kirisaki. Katsumi Ono directs at Satelight, with Shin Yoshida overseeing series scripts and Akira Okuma designing characters. Takashi Ohmama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu compose the music. The anime will stream on Crunchyroll worldwide outside Japan and China, with IVI handling Russia. REMOW stated the adaptation will cover Toshiaki Iwashiro's manga through its conclusion.
Chugai Mining will open a "Gachi V Party" pop up shop at HMV&BOOKS SHIBUYA from Friday, September 25, 2026 through Sunday, October 4, selling items drawn from in-game scenes of characters holding controllers. Real Sound Anime published the WEB preview and advance cuts for Episode 12 of the TV anime Reiwa no Dara-san, titled How to Spend the Year-End and New Year Holidays. In the episode, Chiyo and Kaoru go out, a bored Hinata heads to the Dara-san House, and Kaoru helps at Miwa's doujin event before Hinata and Kaoru drag Dara-san into year-end and New Year events. The series airs Thursdays at 22:30 on TOKYO MX and other stations.
Episode 11 of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman II, titled "The Old Country Bumpkin Gets Furious," has synopsis and advance scene cuts out, and the episode airs at 23:51, six minutes later than usual, because of the TV Asahi IMAnimation W slot. A collaboration visual with Reincarnated as a Sword II, which starts airing in October, pairs Beryl with Fran under the line "The sword that leads, the sword that is led." The series streams on Prime Video.
Indie developer Chris Cote released Welcome to Elderfield on Steam at 2,250 yen, with a 10 percent discount to 2,025 yen through September 25, 2026. The cozy horror RPG is set in a town where the abnormal is everyday, with hand-drawn art reminiscent of Junji Ito's work and Lo-Fi music by composer Dated. Players farm crops including teeth and eyeballs, mine, cook, fish, investigate mysteries, romance residents, and fight Lovecraftian horrors in turn-based battles.
Bandai Spirits has released the full prize lineup for Ichiban Kuji One Piece -Love Song Ringing in the Sky-, a Skypiea arc lottery on sale sequentially from October 29 at 850 yen per draw. Bandai will release the APEX LEGENDS Blister Charm Collection in the third week of September 2026, priced at 500 yen per play. The Gashapon lineup has six types: Bloodhound, Pathfinder, Gibraltar, Loba, Wattson, and Crypto. Black Forest Labs announced FLUX Video Edit, a video editing AI service that edits only specified parts of a clip and preserves the rest of the frame. It handles videos up to 15 seconds and is available through an API at $0.03 per second of video. The company says the service is cheaper and higher quality than Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3, and that image, video, and audio referencing will be added soon.
RED DUNES GAMES, an Abu Dhabi publisher, will bring streamers KENKI and MAO to its Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21. The two will play Zozo and the Lost Dreams and Port of Jumanah on YouTube, X, and Twitch. Solo developer TitanGameDev began a Steam playtest for Dumbfire on September 2. The physics-based game puts the player in control of a missile, using WASD and the space key to thrust, rotate, and thread narrow gaps toward targets such as helicopters and tanks. The Reddit thread announcing the playtest has about 3,000 upvotes. The free Steam build adds a tutorial, 8 stages, and 4 abilities, with a level editor planned for the full version.
BeXide has released the Ver.2.0.0 update for the Steam version of Memory of Memorie: A Chill Story, adding a ToDo List that links to a Pomodoro timer, a calendar with focus and task graphs, Daily Achievements, and a Tsumugi no Mahou feature that can connect a streak of up to five days. Two hairstyles, two outfits, new gestures, and two Celtic-flavored songs were also added.

Mojang Studios will release the Minecraft game drop Wilderness Bound on September 16, 2026 Japan Time, across Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. The update adds the Dappled Forest biome, filled with Poplar Trees, plus structures such as the Abandoned Camp, new items including the Straw Bed and Cushion, and concrete and wool half slabs.
The 49-minute animated special LEGO Star Wars/The Mandalorian has been available for unlimited streaming only on Disney+ since September 2, 2026, per Anime Anime. Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group produced the special, which retells all three seasons of the live-action The Mandalorian with LEGO humor. Streaming availability across major Japanese services was checked as of September 2026. Disney+ is the only service confirmed to offer it for unlimited streaming, rental, or purchase.
The TV anime BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita has aired its final episode. Bushiroad CEO Takahiro Kitani wrote on X that watching the show reminded him the BanG Dream! project is a taiga drama. The lineup opens with Sakura Wars: Ouka Kenran, split into two parts running September 18 to September 22 and September 22 to September 26. Sakura Wars: Ecole de Paris follows with parts from September 25 to September 29 and September 29 to October 3. Sakura Wars: Goka Kenran runs October 2 to October 6 and October 6 to October 10. Sakura Wars: Le Nouveau Paris closes the run with parts from October 9 to October 13 and October 13 to October 17. The franchise began with a game released for the Sega Saturn in 1996 and has expanded into anime and stage productions. The setting is a fictional version of the Taisho Era, with the cast fighting as a musical revue troupe in peacetime and a combat unit in emergencies.
Netflix will begin streaming the live-action film Golden Kamuy: Abashiri Prison Raid on September 13, 2026, with no extra charge for subscribers. The film opened in Japanese theaters on March 13, 2026, distributed by Toho. A survey of 14 streaming services found no other platform offering it for subscription streaming or rental, and no free option.

The theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc begins unlimited streaming on Amazon Prime Video at midnight on September 19, 2026. The film adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto's Reze arc from the Chainsaw Man manga, animated by MAPPA, and follows devil hunter Denji's encounter with a mysterious girl named Reze. It runs 100 minutes. Tatsuya Yoshihara directs, with Kikunosuke Toya as Denji and Reina Ueda as Reze. No other major streaming service carries it.
KRAFTON implemented PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 43.1 on September 10, 2026, after PC server maintenance. The update adds an unarmed kick that knocks players back and breaks windows and wooden doors, lets players use sub-weapons and throwables on the water surface, and raises swim and dive speed by 25 percent. It also adds Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration spaces and effects in parts of Erangel.

The company reports generation is up to 61 times faster than the previous version, with time cut by as much as 98 percent. Neos announced that cumulative shipments of Culdcept Begins have passed 100,000 units. The board-and-card game launched on July 16, 2026, as the first new entry in the series in 10 years. The figure includes downloads, and the title drew players new to Culdcept as well as series fans. A Steam version is in development for Q4 2026.
Bandai will release the gashapon "TOM and JERRY Colorful Candy Charms" in the third week of September at 300 yen per play, tax included. The six charms are modeled on Tom and Jerry lollipops, made in a translucent style with faces on the designs. Zero Place ran a participatory promotion for Saitama City at Saitama Stadium Fireworks John Williams Fireworks 2026. Four gacha machines were installed, with free plays conditioned on following the city's official SNS accounts, plus a survey-linked digital gacha called ELP. The day produced 440 free gacha plays and 48 ELP digital plays, a total of 488 experiences, and gathered visitor opinions for future event planning.
Epic Games Store is giving away Astral Ascent and Luftrausers at no cost until 0:00 on September 18, 2026. Astral Ascent is a 2D pixel-art roguelike action adventure where players pick one of four characters and fight through a prison called the Garden, guarded by 12 Zodiacs. Luftrausers is an arcade-style fighter-jet shooter with more than 125 aircraft configurations. Shogun Showdown and Mindcop are next.
The Transformers YouTube channel posted a 30-second clip from the 12-minute "Optimus Prime: Awakening" animated short on Thursday. The clip is restricted from playing in Japan. The short plays after the ending credits in anniversary screenings tied to Fathom Entertainment and Hasbro's 4K re-release of The Transformers: The Movie, which opens September 17 in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany, France, Singapore, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru.
Double H Productions will release Tape 101: Liminal Descent on PC via Steam on September 19, the studio announced in September. The psychological horror game sends players through liminal spaces built from repeating beige corridors, tiled passageways, and empty offices. Its main tool is a small camera-equipped remote-controlled car, which players drive into ventilation ducts and under doors to collect items and activate devices in places a person cannot reach. The developer says the spaces themselves work as puzzles: layouts shift as chapters progress, and players observe patterns to find a route forward. The world is structured around the five stages of grief described by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, covering denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, with each stage expressed as a location. Double H Productions is a two-person indie studio made up of Suversa and Nana. A free demo is available now on the Steam store page.
Taito is adding a new software title to its XR attraction Cube. Juban JUBAN -DICE or DIE- starts September 18, 2026, a sugoroku shooting game for one to four players who cooperate through trials inside the 450-degree box and try to escape a house of fate. Each session runs about 10 minutes and costs 1,200 yen per person. It expands to more Taito Station venues on September 25, including Kurayami Yuenchi locations.
OpenAI released the public beta of its Agents API, aimed at developers building internal or customer-only AI agents. A harness that handles prompt formatting, tool use, context management and long-running sessions is required for agent work, and the Agents API lets developers use the same harness as Codex instead of maintaining their own. Tool calls run in a sandbox, either OpenAI-hosted or self-hosted through providers including Oracle and Cloudflare.
ASCII.jp's event arm will hold TOKYO Gaming-PC STREET 9 at LIFORK AKIHABARA II on October 10, from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with doors at 1:00 PM. Admission and viewing are free. Attendees can handle gaming PCs, keyboards, mice, and headsets, compare them side by side, and ask ASCII editorial staff for buying advice. Tenkuu released the AYANEO Pocket AIR Mini Arcade Edition Domestic Official Version on September 11, 2026, a limited model of a few hundred units worldwide priced at 29,800 yen including tax. Sokpop Collective announced on September 10 that Rat Game will launch on October 30 for PC via Steam, with Japanese in-game text supported according to the store page. The game is an asymmetric horror comedy in which one chef faces two to eight rats in a restaurant. The rats run around the kitchen, office, bar, storage room, and restroom, using small bodies to move through space under furniture and holes in walls. They sabotage the restaurant by tampering with the breaker panel, clogging toilets, and hacking PCs, and they win by completing a set number of tasks. The chef catches rats and throws them into cages placed around the restaurant, can peek under furniture to search, and can use a gun. Trailer footage shows rats solving math problems at a PC and entering a safe combination, and captured rats being freed from cages by fellow rats. The developer describes a hidden cheese storage room somewhere on the map. Estimated play time is about two hours. Rat Game was officially announced in February. Sokpop Collective is based in the Netherlands.
CyberStar will release the TuneMATE collaboration earphones TM005-USW with Re:AcT VSinger Suu Usuwa, the company said. The limited-period made-to-order model uses clear aqua-blue resin with rainbow glitter, a motif taken from the in-ear monitors Suu Usuwa wore at the unveiling of her new 3D costume. Pre-orders open September 16, 2026 at 21:00 and close October 31, 2026 at 23:59, with delivery expected between early and late December 2026.
KADOKAWA will run the "Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu 5th Anniversary POP UP SHOP" on the second floor of Shinjuku Marui Annex from October 2 to October 18, 2026. The Blind Box Series Racing Miku All Stars Figure Collection Vol.1 collects eight even-year Racing Miku designs as palm-sized figures, scheduled for release in March 2027 from Good Smile Racing. Illustrator Ekushiro Uekura drew the versions of Racing Miku 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024. Each figure is non-scale painted plastic, about 75mm tall, and comes with a dedicated base. Price is 2,200 yen per item with tax included.
Off By One Games announced on September 11 that Trash Day will release on October 14 Japan time, with a new trailer. The physics-based co-op adventure supports up to six players as raccoons who collect trash and steer a cart home. It launches on PC via Steam with Japanese support. Trash Day is the debut title from Off By One Games, a studio founded by former Rocket League developers. A demo is available on Steam.
