Recent coverage of SPY x FAMILY is split between the franchise's public-facing events and the people who make it. The most recent story is a piece of event footage from ANIME EXTRA MISSION I that the official anime account posted: Takuya Eguchi, who voices Loid Forger, attempted "Anya's Drawing Song," official content released on Jump Channel on April 4, 2023 to mark volume 11 of Tatsuya Endo's manga. Eguchi drew a mountain at the first lyric, and the finished picture drew comments calling it "special-grade cursed object," "a monster," and "off the charts from the very first move." Endo said it is "funny no matter how many times I watch it." The account also posted attempts by Saori Hayami (Yor) and Kenichiro Matsuda (Bond), and Eguchi's own reaction warned that Hayami is the one who is really dangerous. A special event, ANIME EXTRA MISSION II, is set for November 8, 2026 at Bellesalle Takadanobaba.
Behind the franchise sits a long editorial history. At Anime NYC, The Japan Foundation hosted veteran manga editor Shihei Lin, current CEO of Mix Green and former Editor-in-Chief of Shonen Jump Plus, who discussed his partnerships with the creators behind DAN DA DAN, SPY x FAMILY, and Chainsaw Man, including nearly two decades of work with the SPY x FAMILY author before its serialization. A licensing story from San Diego Comic-Con placed SPY x FAMILY in a wider catalog: Udon Entertainment set release dates for previously announced art books for the series alongside Manga Biographies volumes and art books for other properties. A summer merchandise line titled "Summer Outing" covered Anya, Loid, Yor, and Bond in everyday preparations, with pre-orders until June 28, 2026 and shipment and sale expected in September. The franchise also appeared in a Marine Day roundup, where it was one of many anime and manga accounts posting holiday content.
What the stories establish is a franchise running on events, merchandise, and its creative history rather than on new animated work. No new series, film, or season is named in any of these stories.

Wit Studio president George Wada said Attack on Titan was the only project the studio considered for its first anime. Speaking with Anime News Network at Anime Expo 2026, Wada said he chose Hajime Isayama's manga because it fit director Tetsuro Araki and because the studio's own situation matched the story. "It was the only one," he said when asked whether other options were discussed. Wada said the series helped Japanese anime reach audiences worldwide and showed what Japanese animation could do. He also noted the studio grew from six people to more than 300. Wada said Wit Studio is preparing The One Piece for release in February 2027, and he described some fear and anxiety about the adaptation alongside greater excitement. He also mentioned Tokyo Anime Next, an international animation event in Ikebukuro from October 30 to November 2, 2026.
