Orange Inc. announced that its emaqi e-bookstore is adding seven exclusive manga titles this month, six of which are available through the emaqi Premium subscription. The service also added 18 Viz Media titles to emaqi Premium, including Komi Can't Communicate, Ranma 1/2, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, and Fly Me to the Moon.

Viz Media and the Gotham Group have signed an agreement for the Gotham Group to develop film and television adaptations based on Viz Media's original properties, including titles from its Viz Originals graphic novels and the RWBY franchise. The RWBY animated series has a 10th volume greenlit. Viz Media acquired RWBY in July 2024 after Rooster Teeth shut down.

Digital manga platform emaqi expanded its Premium subscription catalog on August 7 with 18 series from VIZ Media, including Komi Can't Communicate, Ranma 1/2, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Fly Me to the Moon, Fushigi Yûgi, Goodnight Punpun, Hirayasumi, and How Do We Relationship?. The additions bring the service's catalog to over 400 manga series across more than 2,000 volumes. Alongside the VIZ Media titles, emaqi is rolling out seven exclusive English releases throughout August, six of which are included with Premium. The lineup spans action, fantasy, horror, mystery, and romantic comedy, with publishers including Kodansha, Shonengahosha, Nihonbungeisha, and Coamix. Notable debuts include Ironfist Chinmi, a martial arts adventure by Takeshi Maekawa receiving its first official English release more than three decades after its Japanese debut, and She's Out of My League: Takane no Hana-san, a workplace rom-com by Koji Murata. Other exclusives are Devil of a Saint, Searching for Skeletons, Black Terror, Climax Necromance, and Plus-sized Love. Subscribers also gain access to more than 75 new volumes from ongoing series, including volume 8 of Sengoku Komachi Kurotan and volumes 3 and 4 of The Gene of AI. emaqi Premium costs $6.99 USD or $9.99 CAD per month and is available in the United States and Canada.

Viz Media's SuBLime imprint announced on August 1 that it has licensed three boys-love manga for English print and digital release in 2027: Robin at the Break of Dawn by Fumi Tsuyuhisa, Cake Dog Caramelized by Ogeretsu Tanaka, and Welcome to the Tiger Detective Agency by Yodaka Kuroi. Release dates range from May to August 2027.

Viz Media announced at Anime Expo that the RWBY animated series has been greenlit for a 10th volume. A trailer featuring the four main voice actresses and showrunner Kerry Shawcross was shown. Viz Media acquired the series in July 2024 after Rooster Teeth shut down, and now moves forward with new production.

Viz Media announced a slate of manga and novel print releases for spring 2027, led by the physical English debut of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, the sequel to Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen. The series, set 68 years after the Culling Game, follows siblings Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu as an alien race arrives on Earth. It features a story by Akutami and art by Yuji Iwasaki. The three-volume series concluded in Japan in May 2026. Other spring 2027 releases include a Detective Conan 3-in-1 edition with original Japanese names, a Slam Dunk Deluxe Edition with reordered story arcs and new covers, Takemitsu Zamurai by Taiyo Matsumoto and Issei Eifuku, Junji Ito: Dissection, a hardcover career retrospective, and the yuri romantic comedy #Gal x Gal Yuri. Shuzo Oshimi's autobiographical work Sins is scheduled for fall 2027. The Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins will receive a digital release in spring 2027. The May 2026 print release slate adds two Boys' Love debuts alongside a wave of continuing volumes. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the third volume of the full-color webtoon Lost in the Cloud on May 5, the same day Tokyopop issues the second volume of Monster and Ghost in paperback and hardcover. WEBTOON Unscrolled collects the complete supernatural series The Reaper and The Waiting into a single graphic novel. Vertical Comics releases Voices in the Sea Foam, a one-shot BL manga from Magazine Be x Boy about a college student who recalls a past life as a mermaid. Yen Press moves A Long and Short Love Story to May 12. Viz Media has no BL titles in the window but ships Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi volume one, Blue Box volume 20, and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex volume 5. Square Enix Books puts out The Art of Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Rising Tide and the ninth Apothecary Diaries light novel. Kodansha Manga prints the Witch Hat Atelier: Grimoire Edition omnibus and Stella Must Die. Inklore continues Wet Sand with volume three.
