Super Dimension Fortress Macross is in the middle of a 45th anniversary merchandising slate dominated by premium collector items, with the DX Chogokin SDF-1 Macross and two VF-1 releases scheduled for 2027 shipment.
Bandai Spirits opened pre-orders on June 1 for the DX Chogokin SDF-1 Macross, the first 45th anniversary product for the series. The 1/2000 scale ship measures about 650 mm, transforms without replacement parts, and includes light-up gimmicks. It is priced at 99,000 yen and ships in November 2026.
Most later coverage centers on VF-1 variants rather than the ship. BANDAI SPIRITS announced a VF-1S Valkyrie Roy Focker Special + Super Pack Set 45th Anniv. figure, with pre-orders at general retail stores starting September 1, 2026. The 250 mm figure includes a detachable Super Pack, a new head gimmick, and a replaceable canopy cover, priced at 19,800 yen for March 2027 release. Premium Bandai then opened reservations on October 2 for a DX Chogokin VF-1J Super Valkyrie Maximilian Jenius Machine, roughly 300 mm long in Fighter mode, with super parts specific to Max's machine, reaction missiles, interchangeable wrist parts, a gunpod set, a pilot figure, and a stand, at 36,300 yen for March 2027 shipment.
Max Factory accounts for two of the six stories with the same PLAMAX PX-20 1/72 scale VF-1J Super Fighter Valkyrie Max & Milia Galaxy Strongest Set. Orders opened for the kit, priced at 11,000 yen, with the two VF-1J Valkyries, Super Packs, six reaction missiles, and seated Maximilian Jenius and Milia Fallyna Jenius figures, shipping December 2026. Hasegawa's entry is smaller and mixed-media: a 1/24 scale 3D printed Misa Hayase figure kit with a prototype by Tsurugi Dan, paired with the deformed Tamago Hikoki VF-1S Super Valkyrie carrying Hikaru Ichijyo's markings, for 3,960 yen on July 1, 2026.
