Xsolla's Asia-Pacific head Lee Ju-young said the company's Japan business grew significantly over the past year, crediting active engagement from Japanese partners and renewed overseas demand for Japanese IP. He pointed to regulatory changes across several countries as the reason partners approached Xsolla for services they previously could not receive. A new head of the Japan office now leads the organization.

Kodansha's Young Magazine has announced a second issue of Young Magazine USA, its special edition for the U.S. The staff is seeking Japanese manga creators who want their work published for overseas readers. Applicants must submit a chapter storyboard and three sample manuscript pages by December 13. The requested theme is an outcast who is overlooked by society and struggles to fit in.

BookBook released a free Steam demo for the party game Minna de Tier Hyo! on September 26, 2026. Two to six players join online lobbies, and one player becomes the main player, sorting options such as curry ingredients into tiers S through D while the others guess the ranking. The demo includes food topics across cooking and ingredients, Party Mode, Streamer Mode, and a feature for creating original topics.

Game Spark reviewed Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic, the remake of the 2002 danmaku shooter. The release includes a rebuilt New Classic version and a Classic version reproducing the original, plus a Challenge Mode with no game overs, hitbox display, and enemy markers. Good endings still require five or fewer misses, so the series demand to improve remains. A Spell Practice mode lets players rehearse cleared boss spell cards.

The Season 2 finale of You and I Are Polar Opposites steps back in time to retell the start of Tani and Miyu's relationship from Tani's point of view. The episode shows Tani struggling to read other people before Miyu began talking to him, and follows Miyu's casual first approaches as they turned into a crush. It closes with an epilogue of the couple's memories, including a night ride for Taira and Azuma.
