Tokyo Game Show 2026 Cosplay Roundup: Ann, Tifa, Aigis
Tokyo Game Show 2026 drew 250,000-plus visitors and a record 1,138 exhibitors even after a typhoon forced the cancellation of the planned fifth day, and the cosplay roundup shows the show floor being documented through the game characters attendees chose to wear rather than publishers' booths alone.
Reporting from 1 source: Inside.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 ran from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, with the September 21 session canceled as a typhoon approached. Business days were September 17 and 18, public days September 19 and 20. More than 250,000 visitors attended across the four days, and 1,138 companies and organizations from 53 countries and regions exhibited. A photo roundup collects eight cosplayers, among them Ann Takamaki from Persona 5, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII, Aigis from Persona 3, and Yasmine from Street Fighter 6.
Cosplay was allowed at the venue, with a designated area for photos, and attendees walked the floor in costume between new game exhibits, related product displays, and limited-edition goods sales. The roundup focuses on eight participants and the characters they brought, drawn mostly from domestic game series.
Several of the costumes reference characters whose series have active merchandising lines; the article's page carries listings for a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Tifa Lockhart Swimsuit Ver. figure at 28,215 yen and a Final Fantasy VII Remake Play Arts Kai Tifa Lockhart figure at 19,200 yen, prices as of publication.
