Sega announced the Brazil map for Crazy Taxi: World Tour on October 10, adding a South American location to the game's Story Mode and other modes. The map mixes waterfalls counted among the world's three great waterfalls, giant rock formations, a colorful cityscape also known as a World Heritage Site, and long beaches. Real Brazilian brands appear as collaboration stores and drop-off destinations: the steakhouse Fogo de Chao, the fast-food chain Habib's, the hotel chain Blue Tree Hotels, and DAISO. A new trailer presents the map as a travel guide. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is a new entry in the driving action series, with protagonist Axel traveling maps themed on cities worldwide, plus an online multiplayer mode for up to six players in co-op and versus play. It is scheduled for 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with wishlists open and the Switch 2 store page due later.

Sega presented the Japan map for Crazy Taxi: World Tour during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 stream on Thursday. Crazy Taxi: World Tour will launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Sega's Steam page states that the company uses generative AI as a support tool for developers and that such tools were used during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, with no AI used in reference to the performers in the game. Netflix announced on Monday that it is collaborating with Sega to create adaptations of its games, including a live-action film based on the Crazy Taxi series.

Netflix and Sega announced a partnership on September 15 to adapt Sega game properties into film and television. Three projects are in production. A live-action comedy film based on Crazy Taxi is the first, with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand writing the script. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher, who produced the Sonic the Hedgehog films, produce with Sega's Toru Nakahara. A new animated Sonic the Hedgehog children's series is aimed at upper preschoolers, with Carlos Stevens and Nakahara producing. A live-action crime film based on Stranger Than Heaven, the Ryu ga Gotoku Studio game set in early 20th-century Japan, is also in development, with Nakahara producing. Genres span live-action comedy, kids anime, and live-action crime action. No distribution dates were announced.
