Square Enix posted a notice titled "[Important] Notice Regarding Unauthorized Access and Account Management" on the Final Fantasy XIV Players' Site and The Lodestone on October 19, and later posted a matching notice on the Dragon Quest X official site. The company says it has confirmed logins to Square Enix Accounts using email addresses, account IDs and passwords believed to have leaked from other companies' online services, and that the reused combinations are being tried as-is. The official website for the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Final Chapter trilogy began streaming a teaser for the third and final film on Saturday. Bandai Spirits will open pre-orders for an S.H.MonsterArts Keizer Ghidorah figure on Premium Bandai from 16:00 on October 15, 2026. Smoke and poison gas behavior also changes, and explosives can briefly suppress them.

Square Enix announced on September 30 that the free trial for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI no longer has a usage period. The trial previously ran for 14 days. The level cap increase from 50 to 75, applied on September 10, remains in place alongside the change, so trial players can develop characters at their own pace. Character data carries over to the retail version, which is available for PC.

Universal Music announced on September 25 that WurtS's "INSIDE" is the image song for "Final Fantasy Resonance," which goes on sale October 22. The song also appears in the final trailer. "INSIDE" will be included on WurtS's 1st Mini Album "SPARK," out October 21. The pairing came through "Game Music & Artists," a service that coordinates collaborations between game companies and artists.

During the HYG Direct #3 stream on September 24, organizers announced ten new performers for the Streamer Hyper Game Tournament FINAL hosted by Junichi Kato. Ariken, Kizuna AI, Killin9Hit, Kousuke, ta1yo, Dasoku, Mother3, Masuo, YamatoN, and Rakshana join as the "Haige Revengers." Esports caster Kosuke Hiraiwa joins as play-by-play commentator. The anime of Kotoko and Kaname Hanamiya's The Final-Boss Prince is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me will premiere in January 2027, with a first promotional video, key visual, and new staff. Kotobukiya is producing Levi Ackerman, Armin Arlert, and Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan The Final Season as figures in its OSHI WORKS line. The three are non-scale painted PVC and ABS figures sculpted by Thousand, each priced at 11,000 yen with tax included. Levi is scheduled for May 2027, Armin for June 2027, and Sasha for July 2027.

The division selects unreleased titles shown or announced at Tokyo Game Show 2026, decided by a general user vote and screening by the selection committee. TENGO PROJECT showed a playable build of Cybernetic Attack Final Mission at Tokyo Game Show 2026. It is a full remake of the 1990 Famicom game Final Mission, planned for release by Winning Entertainment Group. The side-view scrolling shooter has no fixed release date or platforms. The original two protagonists are now four: Frederick, Siren, Titan, and Queen Bee. Only Frederick was playable at the booth.

Square Enix is taking preorders for a Zack Fair figure from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in its PLAY ARTS Shin line, priced at 28,600 yen with a release date of January 30, 2027. The figure uses a renewed articulation style with a mechanism that moves the eyeballs, and ships with an interchangeable battle face, a Buster Sword with interchangeable Materia, and interchangeable hands.

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe and TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, trial play tickets for several titles ended distribution on September 19, per the official X accounts of each title. Final Fantasy VII Revelation used a numbered ticket system for safety reasons, and distribution for the day closed at 9:24 AM once the planned number was reached. Persona 4 Revival tickets at the Sega/Atlus booth ended at 9:34 AM. Earth Defense Force 6.2 tickets at the D3P booth appeared to end at 10:28 AM. Distribution also ended for Final Fantasy Resonance, Romancing SaGa 3 Destiny United, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, Ace Combat 8, GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX, and others. Social media posts included 'Already over!?' and 'So it's one of those that you can't make even with a opening dash.'

Square Enix director Naoki Hamaguchi told VGC that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be around 200GB. The third and final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is set for April 8, 2027. Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind join as playable characters. The PS5 packaged version ships on a single disc, but playing it requires an internet connection and an additional data download.

The lineup is a pouch at 2,200 yen, a tenugui towel at 3,080 yen, a tote bag at 3,300 yen, and a sticker set at 2,200 yen, all tax included. Release is set for January 16, 2027.
