The first wave of merchandise for "Horimiya 15th POP UP SHOP" has been announced ahead of its Friday, December 4, 2026 opening at Yurakucho Marui and other venues. The anime adaptation of Biyori Harunohi and Yu Hitaki's light novel series The Otome Heroine's Fight for Survival revealed an English-subtitled teaser video and visual on Tuesday. The teaser names Fuka Izumi as protagonist Alicia and confirms a July 2027 television premiere. Noriyoshi Sasaki directs at Studio Clutch and Seven. Toko Machida handles series scripts, Hiroyuki Miseki designs characters, and Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Yuki Furuhashi compose the music. J-Novel Club publishes the light novels and the manga adaptation by Kobato Wakasa in English. The 11th novel volume shipped in Japan on June 15, and the manga's ninth compiled volume is set for October 15. J-Novel Club released the sixth novel volume on March 13 and the seventh manga volume on August 12. The story follows Alicia, an orphan who gains knowledge from a crystal and rejects her fate as an otome game heroine.

Bandai will include a newly drawn Nami card by Kentaro Yabuki in the One Piece Card Game extra booster Heroines Edition vol.2. Two versions exist: a standard card with a cat silhouette in the background, and a foil-stamped version built around Nami's expression. Free Wing and NPC Entertainment have released the full version of Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms on PC via Steam, priced at 2,070 yen. The single-player Three Kingdoms RPG sandbox comes from a China-based team of fewer than 10 people who grew up on Taiko Risshiden and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Bandai Spirits will release an S.H.Figuarts figure set of young Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia. The set goes up for preorder on Premium Bandai at 16:00 on Friday, October 9, 2026, and is scheduled to ship in May 2027. It is priced at 11,000 yen, tax included, with shipping and fees separate. The two figures stand about 85mm tall and are made of PVC and ABS. Both bodies use the S.H.Figuarts articulation mechanism. Hulu is developing a live-action series adaptation of The Mafia Nanny, the WEBTOON action romance written by Violet Matter with art by sh00 and assistants roousuu and Drawniels. Charlize Theron is an executive producer. Max Gill will write and executive produce, with 20th Television, Secret Menu, WEBTOON Productions, and Steady Collective producing. The webcomic has more than 420 million views globally.

Kadokawa unveiled the second teaser key visual and second teaser video for Sentenced to Be a Hero -Game of the GODDESS-, a smartphone game for Android and iOS developed by VIC GAME STUDIOS. Team17 released a Japanese-language update for the roguelite action RPG Heroes of Hammerwatch II on October 1, adding full Japanese localization to the PC Steam title for the first time. The same patch carries balance changes, bug fixes, a new tailor NPC, and new achievements, and adjusts settings for New Game+ and class parameters, with full notes posted on the Steam Community. The game is a sequel to the 2018 Heroes of Hammerwatch and a spin-off of the Hammerwatch series, with randomly generated Dark Citadel dungeons, seven classes including Warrior, Paladin, and Ranger, permanent upgrades, and online co-op for up to four players. It is discounted 60 percent in the Steam Autumn Sale 2026 to 920 yen including tax from a regular 2,300 yen, a price that holds until 2:00 AM Japan time on October 9. Grasshopper Manufacture announced that it became independent from NetEase Games as of October 1, 2026. The Tokyo studio, founded in 1998 and led by representative director Goichi Suda, has more than 25 years of development experience and more than 25 titles, including killer7, The Silver Case, and the No More Heroes series. It became a subsidiary of GungHo Online Entertainment in 2013 and came under NetEase through a share transfer agreement in 2021. Grasshopper Manufacture released its latest title, ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN, in February 2026 and marked its 28th anniversary in March. The studio said the decision followed sufficient discussion with NetEase Games and its cooperation, and that it will keep a good relationship and cooperate mutually if opportunities arise. It said it has built up self-publishing know-how and will keep planning and developing titles with its own style. Procedures such as changes among officers are underway.

Bandai Namco Entertainment released a collaboration video with science presenter Denjiro Yonemura on September 30, 2026, marking the third anniversary of My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble. The video is titled Boku no Denjiro Academia ULTRA RUMBLE. In it, Yonemura recreates the Quirks of Shoto Todoroki and Toya Todoroki, who appear in the game's Season 19, using experiments. His profile introduces his own Quirk as Science. He reproduces Shoto's Half-Cold Half-Hot flames with gloves and makes ice through supercooling. The ultimate moves Flashfreeze Heatwave Rin and Flashfreeze Heatwave: Blooming are also recreated through flame tests. The video opened at 12:00 on September 30, following a September 29 announcement from the game's official account. The announcement included an image of Yonemura smiling. My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble is a free-to-play multiplayer battle action game available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Kotobukiya is re-releasing its 1/8 scale figure of Shizuna Rem Misurugi from Nihon Falcom's Trails series, scheduled for April 2027 at 24,200 yen including tax. The painted PVC, ABS, acrylic and metal rod figure stands about 225mm with base, sculpted by Tetsuya Tsukada of namoji, and depicts Shizuna in her reinforced suit with the odachi Akegarasu. Jump Festa 2027 will run 34 series across three stages at Makuhari Messe on Dec. 19 and 20. The Jump Super Stage carries 15 titles including One Piece, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kagurabachi and Black Clover; the Jump Studio stage has 10, among them Bleach and Kaiju No. 8, and the new Jump Station Online streaming stage has 9, among them KochiKame and Chained Soldier. Edia announced on Wednesday that it will re-release the PC-98 versions of Nihon Falcom's Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes and Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II. No release date or platforms were announced. The PC-98 releases add voice acting to specific scenes. The two games first released on PC-88 in 1989 and 1992, and the first game inspired a two-episode OVA in 1992.

One or Eight announced on September 17 that its tower defense game Pixel Hero Scramble Plus will release for Nintendo Switch and Steam on December 1, 2026. The publisher also released a first trailer and opened wishlist registration on the Steam store page, while the Nintendo Switch store page is already live. The game is a fixed-route tower defense title where players place units at designated spots to stop waves of enemies and reclaim invaded territory. More than 60 units appear, split between melee units that halt the enemy advance and ranged units that support from the rear. Some units stall enemies, some spread status ailments, and others focus on support. Stages move from urban areas to grasslands and deserts, with bosses appearing on certain stages. Players can call on limited-use EX Skills, including meteor attacks, attack and movement speed reduction, reinforcement summons, and barrier defense. Single-use support items are also available. A Steam demo is planned, with timing and content to be announced once decided.

Mag Garden's Mag Comi website ran the final chapter of Mimu Oyamada's manga adaptation of Shakushineko's Lovestruck Prince! I'll Fight the Heroine for My Villainess Fiancee! on August 18, and the 10th and final compiled volume shipped on Tuesday. Oyamada launched the manga in Mag Comi in January 2021. Cross Infinite World released all three volumes of the light novel, and a final epilogue chapter set 10 years after the main story debuted Tuesday.

Nihon Falcom announced on September 16, 2026 that it has signed a licensing agreement with South Korea's NEOWIZ covering development of The Legend of Heroes III: White Witch for PC and consoles and a release in the global market. The game is the third entry in The Legend of Heroes series, an RPG Falcom released in 1994 for the PC-9801. It is the opening part of the three-part Gagharv Trilogy, alongside The Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion and The Legend of Heroes V: A Cagesong of the Ocean, and it is regarded as the origin of the later Trails series that continues from The Legend of Heroes VI: Trails in the Sky. The sources describe the 1994 release as a singing RPG built on detailed worldbuilding and storytelling, following the pilgrimage of the boy Julio and the girl Chris across a world called Tirasweel. No release window, platform list, or budget was disclosed.

Relic Entertainment has pushed Company of Heroes - Definitive Edition from fall 2026 to early 2027, saying several more months of development are needed. The remaster of the 2006 WWII real-time strategy game is co-developed with Blackbird Interactive and marks the series' 20th anniversary. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd, a full 3D remake of the 2006 PC game Trails in the Sky SC, launches September 17, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. In an interview with ASCII.jp, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo said the remake was not planned when the 1st entered development. The team's high motivation and the 1st's reception set a one-year release target. He also explained why FC and SC were not merged into one game.
