The game picks up the story immediately after the ending of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, the 2002 title, and the announcement stresses that this is not a prequel in the manner of Serious Sam 3: BFE or Serious Sam 4. Sam Stone returns to fight through alien worlds, eerie fortresses, and wastelands, moving toward the army of his nemesis Mental. Combat is described as more intense than before, from defense against swarming enemies to an all-out assault on Mental's stronghold. The familiar minigun returns and new weapons are planned. Solo and co-op play are both supported. The game is in early development with no release date, and only PC via Steam has been announced as a platform.

A wave of cyberattacks has reached Japanese e-commerce sites selling anime and manga. NTT Solmare took down Comic C'moA, a digital manga platform with 40 million monthly users, after a breach. Renta! shut its Japanese and English sites after its own breach. Dai Nippon Printing blocked non-Japanese IPs at Honto after a breach at vendor Ymirlink. Animate, Gamers, and Melonbooks blocked foreign IPs with no breach reported.

Knocklearn Inc., the Tokyo company behind the startup recruitment service Recboo, says new client companies for fiscal 2026 passed the full-year total for fiscal 2025 in about six months. Recboo handles recruitment strategy, sourcing, scouting, and selection operations for startups hiring CxO-level and specialist staff. The company cites backcasting-style hiring plans, internal recruitment systems, and direct sourcing of candidates who do not appear on job boards.

Minna no Ginko Payment, the payment service run through viviON's tie-up with Minna no Ginko, has reached its first anniversary. It passed 10,000 users about three weeks after launching on October 6, 2025, and in August 2026 monthly transaction volume on DLsite topped 100 million yen. Minna no Ginko runs a commemorative campaign from October 21 to November 30, 2026, with a lottery for users who spend 5,000 yen or more and 10 percent cash back for first-time users.

A US magistrate judge ordered Meta on October 19, 2026 to identify every person involved in decisions to obtain pirated books from shadow libraries and to use BitTorrent. Judge Thomas Hixson rejected Meta's argument that consensus team decisions excused it from naming individuals. Meta must also explain how it handled the plaintiff's works that were downloaded but never used for training.

Zemore Indie Games announced Pooper Scooper on October 20, a PC (Steam) simulation game about carrying cat poop to the trash with a scoop. Each piece has its own shape and size, physics simulation is in effect, and the cats wobble, fly, and spin to interfere. Release is planned for Q4 2026, with playtests scheduled soon.
