Level Infinite will implement the latest Goddess of Victory: Nikke version, "COIN RUSH SHOWDOWN," on September 17, 2026, following maintenance scheduled from 11:00 to 18:00. The update adds two SSR Nikkes: Guilty: Mighty Bunny, voiced by Rina Sato, enters special recruitment after maintenance and runs until October 8, while Sin: Swift Bunny, voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, opens September 24 at 5:00 and runs until October 15. The new story event is set at the first Three Great Companies Expo, where the Commander joins a battle royale with the Plan C Squad and becomes caught up in a conspiracy. Waymo announced jointly with Nihon Kotsu and GO that it plans to commercialize an unmanned self-driving ride-hailing service in Tokyo in 2027, aiming for fully autonomous operation with general passengers. Rides would be callable from both the GO and Waymo apps. The service starts with a small number of vehicles and expands gradually to about 100 in major areas of Tokyo. The 2027 launch is not finalized.

Kadokawa's Comic Gene magazine announced Monday that Arata Aki will launch a new manga, Enma Note: Jigoku Idol Project, in its October issue on Tuesday. The story follows overworked denizens of hell whose workload grows after a certain death, and who hold idol auditions for the young men of hell to inspire hope. Aki's previous series include A Destructive God Sits Next to Me, which ended in April 2020.

Netflix and Sega announced a partnership on September 15 to adapt Sega game properties into film and television. Three projects are in production. A live-action comedy film based on Crazy Taxi is the first, with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand writing the script. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher, who produced the Sonic the Hedgehog films, produce with Sega's Toru Nakahara. A new animated Sonic the Hedgehog children's series is aimed at upper preschoolers, with Carlos Stevens and Nakahara producing. A live-action crime film based on Stranger Than Heaven, the Ryu ga Gotoku Studio game set in early 20th-century Japan, is also in development, with Nakahara producing. Genres span live-action comedy, kids anime, and live-action crime action. No distribution dates were announced.

Brave group's next-generation content label BEverse has produced a new entertainment program called Yofuke no netgod, read as negoto. The show will run four episodes across three consecutive weeks starting Wednesday, September 16, 2026, on the official Yofuke no netgod YouTube channel. The first episode searches for unknown talent inside VRChat and sends them to the stage. MC Tontsukatan Morimoto and comedians and streamers including Omatcha form teams that travel through VRChat looking for participants with strong individuality, scouting people they want to see perform. Genres are open: singing, rap, dance, impressions, talk, and one-shot gags. Participants use their own avatars. Those who survive the competition win the title of first-generation netgod and a prize. Recording took place at Virtual Sanrio Puroland.

Jagex will release RuneScape: Dragonwilds out of early access on September 15, adding a version 1.0 build and console versions. Executive producer Jesse America said the studio weighed an action RPG, mobile projects, and ports before settling on survival crafting, a direction backed by a survey of 100,000 active RuneScape players. In that survey, action RPG, life simulation, and survival games all ranked high among genres players wanted. America said survival crafting fit RuneScape's sandbox design, where players value freedom over prescribed progression. The game entered early access on PC via Steam in April 2025 as a surprise, announced about two weeks before release. Some players started it expecting a new MMORPG, and America recalls some asking where the MMO was. He estimates playtime has grown from roughly 20 hours at launch to more than 100 hours now, and version 1.0 closes the first major story arc.

Good Smile Company began early access for the PlayStation 5 download version of Mobile Police Patlabor the Case Files on September 14, 2026. CCMC Corp. released Suba Pogo on Steam on Monday, September 14, 2026. The game is a high-difficulty jump action title developed by DanggeunOi and published under holo Indie, the derivative game brand for hololive production. Players control hololive second-generation talent Oozora Subaru, who rides a pogo stick up platforms and past gimmicks toward a summit. Reaching the top requires reading bounce positions, adjusting angles, and controlling jump height, so a single misjudgment can send the player into a long fall. More than 40 hololive talents appear as pixel art, each with their own gimmicks and actions placed in Subaru's path. The game is single-player, priced at 380 yen with tax included, and supports Japanese, English, Indonesian, and Korean. It runs on PC through Steam. CCMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cover Corp. and handles game production support and publishing.

VTuber Kujo Ringo is publishing "Zero kara Wakaru VTuber no Hajimekata! Haishin Debut kara Fan-zukuri, Shuekika made" through Sotechsha on September 28, 2026. The 240-page A5 book is priced at 2,200 yen and printed in two colors. It covers the work of starting as a VTuber and of staying one: concept planning, ordering art and models from illustrators and modelers, streaming software and equipment, publicity plans, pre-stream testing, collaborations, merchandise, 3D modeling and 3D live performances, taking on work, and health and mental care for the long run. The 49-minute animated special LEGO Star Wars/The Mandalorian has been available for unlimited streaming only on Disney+ since September 2, 2026, per Anime Anime. Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group produced the special, which retells all three seasons of the live-action The Mandalorian with LEGO humor. The Blind Box Series Racing Miku All Stars Figure Collection Vol.1 collects eight even-year Racing Miku designs as palm-sized figures, scheduled for release in March 2027 from Good Smile Racing. Kakehashi Games released a demo for the dungeon-crawling RPG Algolemeth on PC via Steam on September 10. The indie developer Gangee, also known as Medium-Rare Games, built the game around visual programming: players act as an alchemist, assemble self-propelled golems, and watch them clear dungeons automatically. Square Enix announced during the September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct that a trial version of Dragon Quest Monsters 4: Bianca and Flora of the Withered Land will be released after the broadcast ends. The demo covers the early story and supports partial data transfer to the full game, which is scheduled for release on December 3, 2026. The game stars Bianca and Flora from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, who become Monster Masters capable of communicating with monsters.
