Ubisoft plans to close its Finnish studio RedLynx, developer of the Trials series, and to cut around 70 positions at Ubisoft Singapore, according to VGC. RedLynx is not working on a new project, and the company intends to propose closing it rather than downsizing. Ubisoft Singapore led development of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Microsoft is surveying some Xbox Insider Program users about what they would do if franchises such as Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Diablo became Xbox console exclusives, according to Windows Central. The survey also asks about PHYSINT, the Kojima Productions title, and offers answers including playing on an Xbox the respondent already owns, buying a new Xbox, or playing on PC. Call of Duty is not included.
Infinite Loop released a new Desktop Mate DLC for the virtual artist IA on Steam on October 15, 2026. The DLC costs 2,200 yen including tax and supports Japanese and English on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and macOS Tahoe 26 or later. It uses IA's official 3D model, built by 1st PLACE, the company behind IA since the 2012 VOCALOID3 release IA -ARIA ON THE PLANETES-. Her appearance motion recreates the pose from that package illustration. She jumps up in orbs of light, lands, holds both hands forward, and says, "Hello! I'm IA." In her sitting pose she pulls out a plate of sakuramochi from behind, gazes at it, then puts it away as cherry blossom petals drift. In her standing pose a butterfly lands on her fingertip and flies off along an orb of light. Character voice uses VoiSona Talk "IA TALK," covering clicks, alarm messages, morning greetings, and bedtime lines. The DLC also works with Desktop Mate's multi-character function.
Inti Creates has opened Nintendo eShop pre-orders for Azure Striker Gunvolt: Triangle Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and its upgrade pass, both set for October 22, 2026. A commemorative sale through November 4 prices the Switch 2 Edition at 5,085 yen (21% off 6,480 yen) and the upgrade pass at 1,350 yen (10% off 1,500 yen). The release collects all three main Gunvolt games and their downloadable content, plus the new scenario Azure Striker Gunvolt GX.
Shueisha's MANGA MILLION platform has added Hiromasa Okujima's manga Together with Serial-san, which the service describes as a comedy about a college student who lets a wanted serial killer move in under his identity. The manga debuted in Shueisha's Grand Jump Mucha magazine on February 25. Okujima also created Baban Baban Ban Vampire, which ran in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shonen Champion from October 2021 and inspired a Netflix anime and a live-action film.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released Tales of Eternia Remastered on October 15 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The remaster is based on the 2005 PSP version. The standard edition costs 3,960 yen and the Deluxe Edition 6,930 yen. New features include destination icons, a boost function, high-speed auto-battle, and a graphics and SE mode switch.
Hamster will release "Arcade Archives Tokushu Butai U.A.G." and "Arcade Archives 2 Tokushu Butai U.A.G." on October 15, 2026, the company announced on October 14. The Arcade Archives version covers PlayStation 4 at 837 yen and Nintendo Switch at 838 yen, both tax included. Arcade Archives 2 covers Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at 1,100 yen each, tax included. Owners of the Switch or PS4 release can buy the Switch 2 or PS5 edition at 330 yen, tax included. The game is a shooting title Seta released in 1987. The player rides a machine gun-equipped bike toward an enemy base fortress. Destroying structures such as towers makes sidecars with cannons appear as power-ups. Sidecar types differ, including ones with longer bullet range and ones that fire only horizontally. The Arcade Archives release includes difficulty and screen settings, rewind, rapid fire, and multiple save slots. Arcade Archives 2 adds Time Attack Mode and supports VRR. A livestream, the "Tokushu Butai U.A.G. Special," is scheduled from 19:00 on release day.
Claysoft, an emerging local developer, brought a playable demo of the rhythm adventure "Sophia" to SAGA Barcelona Game Fest 2026, held in Barcelona from October 9 to 11. The game pairs picture-book 2D art with classical music, following a young cellist named Sophia who uses her cello against enemies embodying the heart. The demo covered the first of 12 planned boss battles. No release date is announced, and the demo is not yet public on Steam.
4th Branch has opened the Steam store page for blockia, a block simulator built around free creation with no set goal. The game offers more than 120 part types, spanning basic blocks, buildings, furniture, nature, and decorations. A recipe feature lets players assemble example builds such as Rocket, Rabbit, or House piece by piece. Completed works can be photographed in Photo Mode, kept in an in-game album, and exported as images. The PC (Steam) release is scheduled for fall 2026.
Hamster will release Arcade Archives Special Forces U.A.G. on October 15, 2026 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The Sanrio-operated VTuber group Nyantajia! announced on October 14 that member Wakama Hi El will end her activities. The cat VTuber debuted in May 2024 as a second-generation member of the project, performing in game streams and posting cover song videos. According to the announcement, a magic effect that gives El a human form will wear off, returning her to her original cat form, where she is scheduled to spend her time peacefully. Her membership plan and various content will end on October 31, while her past social media posts and streaming archives on YouTube and Twitch will remain available. Wiggin Industries showed its turn-based RPG Bestiario at SAGA Barcelona Game Fest 2026. The Barcelona studio's game is set in a modern Spain where folklore creatures return as "Disruption." Development lead Robert Aguilar positions the project in a genre the team calls "ÑRPG." It uses a social and calendar system influenced by Persona and active turn-based combat influenced by Grandia.
PokoPii Planetarium runs November 19 to November 23, 2026 at Konica Minolta Planetaria TOKYO DOME2 in Yurakucho, Tokyo. The program is a 35-minute theatrical PokoPii film projected in 360 degrees, with 10 screenings daily from 11:00 to 20:00. Tickets go on sale at 17:00 on October 17, first-come, first-served. A simultaneous VRChat event will show the same content, with details to come.
Anime Feminist's episode 1 review covers a premiere about a warrior reborn as Nia Liston, a frail four year old daughter of a noble house. The soul inside her heals the child's illness through chi control, but the new Nia still lives under rest limits and reacts to the household around her. The review calls the premiere a strong start and says the dissonance between a child's body and an adult fighter's instincts drives the humor.
NVIDIA announced on October 14 that the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy will add DLSS 5 support on November 5, 2026. Avalanche Software, the developer, used the DLSS 5 SDK to tune the integration itself, and the announcement states the studio preserved the game's artistic intent and style. DLSS 5 introduces 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, which uses AI to generate lighting and material detail in real time on top of already rendered frames. The update reaches GeForce RTX 50 series, GeForce NOW, and RTX Spark users. Hogwarts Legacy is the open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of the 1800s, published by Warner Bros., released in 2023 with more than 40 million copies sold. The PC version already supports DLSS multi-frame generation and ray reconstruction, and the other DLSS features will move to their latest versions alongside the new one. NVIDIA also said DLSS 5 support arrives for Where Winds Meet in late November and for RTX Remix on October 23.
NVIDIA and Cisco announced USFP, a pluggable optical module form factor for AI factories, unveiled in Santa Clara, California. The module is designed to support 400Gb/s electrical signaling per lane and reach up to 12.8Tb/s of capacity, with bandwidth density said to improve 4x and power efficiency about 1.3x over conventional 200Gb/s-per-lane pluggable modules. TE Connectivity and Amphenol are expected to join the multi-source ecosystem.

Bosses defeated in combat are sealed into Arcana tarot cards, letting Rose converse with them and borrow their abilities. 4Gamer.net reports an exploration-driven map, a whip used for movement via pendulum swings and rapid closes on anchors and enemies, seven weapon categories, and difficulty options that include restarting at a boss and disabling death. Leon Stevans, a Brazilian developer working as noidnoidnoid, has spent four years building the exploration adventure AFANTASIA and showed it at Brasil Game Show 2026 via Japanese publisher Sazanaka. The game follows a boy who wakes without memories and heads for the city, guided by a voice called Intrusion, gathering fragments of his past in the town of Tempo. It is themed around identity, personality, and memory.

At Brasil Game Show 2026 in Sao Paulo, artist Clara Candia presented IdolPet Caretaker, a training visual novel from the three-person indie team Sir Panda Games. Set in Japan, it follows a shelter keeper whose rabbit, cat, and puppy turn into humans and form an idol group. Candia cited Uma Musume Pretty Derby, K-On!, and TWICE as influences. It is for Android, with a Steam store page live.
Cyclone Joe is running a Kinnikuman project, "BLOOD ALLIANCE - Brocken Jr.'s Blood Oath -", from Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 20:00. Konami is taking orders for COMPLETE FILE -The Devil of the Sinful Spoils-, a Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG product built around the Sinful Spoils story theme. The set holds 98 card types: 78 in Ultra Rare and 17 in Prismatic Secret Rare, with Diabellstar the Black Witch printed in two versions including an alternate illustration. A new card, The Devil of the Sinful Spoils Diabellstar, plus new Astellya and Rizette of the White Forest art, appear in Prismatic Secret Rare plus Overframe.
Sentinel 6, an Afro-futurist sci-fi adventure anime, is in development with Michael Carter-Williams and Jamaal Williams on board as executive producers, alongside independent talent manager Sam Goff. LeSean Thomas wrote the pilot and is a consulting producer. Pat Stout and the late Asa Palmer created the series in 2019 under their company Sable Kudzu; it is set in 2429, after the Great Phoenix War, and runs 11 to 12 thirty-minute episodes. Creative Freaks won the production bid.
Party Look has opened pre-orders on Amazon.co.jp for a new color version of Yukimiya Yuge's original character figure Maid Sister Cynthia. The 1/6 scale PVC and ABS painted figure stands about 280mm including the base and is priced at 22,550 yen with tax. It departs from the earlier look with cherry-blossom-colored long hair and a purple-and-white maid outfit. The scheduled release is April 30, 2027.
Romankey's UMS004 Super-Posable Female Body Mia Brown Skin Ver. is a 1/12 scale action figure standing about 158mm tall, made from PVC, POM, PC and ABS. It ships with a figure body, a long neck part, three sets of foot parts, interchangeable lower-limb and hand parts, a bodysuit and a stand. VTubers Ponpoko and Peanuts-kun, the unit PokoPie, will screen a planetarium program called PokoPie Planetaria at Planetaria TOKYO in Yurakucho. Initial D THE ARCADE is holding a Persona 5 The Royal collaboration event starting Thursday, October 8, 2026. Acacia announced on October 9 that Aya Uchida will voice Nekomizo Nora in Mahou Shoujo no Inshuu Mura, its upcoming magical girl suspense game. Nora is described as a girl with a cheerful, clown-like manner who ends her sentences with a cat-like "nyaa" and always wears a mask. Her liveliness is surface-level; the character never lets anyone grasp her true feelings, and much of her behavior is described as shrouded in mystery. She is assigned the flower calendula, and her magic, Kyouya no Dangan, fires flower seeds from a handgun. Her birthday and bloom elements are still undisclosed on the official website. Uchida is known for roles including Kotori Minami in Love Live! and Kaban in Kemono Friends. Acacia previously made Mahou Shoujo no Majo Saiban. The game is scheduled for release this year on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The announcement came through the game's official account with a cast reveal image.
