KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO virtual singers Asu and Bema will stream their 3D live "Cross Night LIVE" in full for free on YouTube Live on Saturday, October 24, with doors at 7:30 p.m. and the show starting at 8:00 p.m. The set mixes original songs and cover songs. Alongside the free stream, the platform Z-aN is selling two paid tickets: a multi-angle streaming ticket that lets viewers pick their camera position during the performance, and a ticket for "AsuBema! Live Pre-Show Surprise Special Talk!", an interview talk recorded for the live that can be viewed after the show ends. Official goods go on sale to coincide with the live, including apparel, acrylic stands, and keychains. Both characters were designed by illustrator Mai Yoneyama. Asu sings material centered on city pop and R&B, and her YouTube channel has about 640,000 subscribers. Bema's channel has passed 230,000 subscribers.

ASUS JAPAN announced two ROG-branded gaming peripherals for release on October 30, 2026: the ROG Gladius IV Ace mouse at an estimated 26,080 yen and the ROG Raikiri II Pro controller at 37,280 yen, both in black and white. The Gladius IV Ace is a right-handed ergonomic wireless mouse with a 56g body, a sensor rated to 65,000DPI, and a polling rate of up to 8,000Hz. Its design follows sports science, and included 3g, 5g and 7g weights raise the total as high as 71g across seven balance options. Communication uses ROG SpeedNova 8K Gen II, and the mouse supports NVIDIA Reflex. The Raikiri II Pro has hot-swappable TMR joysticks aimed at low drift and wear resistance, reaches 8,000Hz in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless connection to a PC, offers a full-color display for profile switching and settings, and lists up to 79 hours of battery life. Detachable rear buttons, replacement caps and dual-mode triggers adjust the feel.

The official website for The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure presented a new trailer, main visual and character relationship chart on Thursday. The trailer names and previews the theme song "Haru ga Tomori" by singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu. The film adapts a new story by original light novel author Hyuganatsu, following Maomao and Jinshi as they travel to the homeland of a concubine who died five years ago to return her remains. The site also announced a film novelization written by Hyuganatsu, on sale December 9, containing material not used in the film, with a first-edition wraparound band carrying the key visual. A short story by Hyuganatsu about Maomao and Jinshi, described as an epilogue, will appear in 1.5 million booklets distributed at participating theaters from opening day while supplies last. The film opens in Japan on December 11, with Norihiro Naganuma directing and TOHO Animation STUDIO on animation. Crunchyroll holds North American and worldwide rights excluding Asia but including India.

HASUKI's pocket art action figure line has opened pre-orders for PA014 Jinwu Vanguard at AmiAmi. The 1/12 scale figure stands about 165mm in PVC, ABS, and cloth, and comes with three face parts, six sets of hands, a coat over an armor-like combat suit with tactical vest, arm armor and belt, plus an assault rifle with magazines, transceiver, navigation panel and smartphone panel. Reference price is 13,200 yen; AmiAmi lists it at 10,560 yen, with release scheduled for September 2027.

ASUS JAPAN will release two 4K OLED gaming monitors under its Republic of Gamers brand, the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM and the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM, at electronics retailers and online stores nationwide starting October 23. The PG32UCWM is 31.5 inches and priced at 232,920 yen; the PG27UCWM is 26.5 inches at 205,820 yen. Both panels use a tandem RGB OLED design with a True RGB stripe layout and drop the white subpixel found in conventional WOLED panels, which ASUS says widens color gamut volume by up to 27 percent, mainly at high brightness. A dual mode switches between 4K at 240Hz and FHD at 480Hz through hotkey operation. The monitors list 0.03ms GTG response time, DCI-P3 99 percent coverage, Delta E under 2, 10-bit color, and a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support.

The official website for ghost - end of night, Shingo Natsume and Madhouse's theatrical anime project, announced three more cast members on October 21, 2026. Kenjiro Tsuda plays Mobius Dick, the creator of the virtual reality network who takes an interest in the protagonist Neekei and makes contact with her. Hiroki Yasumoto plays Karate, a childhood friend of Masu who manages the observatory department where Neekei is assigned. Hiroshi Kamiya plays Ito, another childhood friend of Masu who provides mental coaching at the observatory. Mayu Hotta voices Neekei and Issei Takahashi voices Masu. The film opens in Japan on February 11, 2027, directed and written by Natsume at Madhouse, with original character designs by Natsume Ono and animation character designs by Norifumi Kugai. Bandai Namco Filmworks distributes. Hitsujibungaku performs the theme song and insert songs, and a collaboration movie ticket card limited to 2,000 will be sold first at the band's Yoyogi National Stadium shows on November 10 and 11.

Sana Natori will appear as a conversation partner in Soshi Haraguchi's first book, Theory of Destruction, announced October 19. KADOKAWA publishes the 176-page essay on Monday, December 21, priced at 1,870 yen. The book poses questions and answers about destruction in creation across five chapters, and includes conversations with Kikuo, Snail's House, and Ken Washizaki alongside Natori.

Yoakelabo showed a demo of Yoru no Namae at Steam Next Fest. The novel game is set in an arcade in a regional city and follows two girls absorbed in arcade music games, tied together by a communication notebook kept inside the game center. The protagonist returns to uncover the truth of an incident at the arcade, reuniting with an arcade friend after 10 years. .THi (Hiroshi Takeyasu) and TAG contributed BGM, and a Sound Room plays some tracks in high quality.

The TV anime Love Live! Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club will begin airing January 10, 2027 on TOKYO MX and other channels. A livestream on October 18 revealed the group key visual and three new 106th class members: Maika Nishikiue voiced by Juria Hoshimiya, Aoi Reisawa voiced by Hana Asahi, and Mion Shirin voiced by Kanae Yuasa. The official website for the Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jogakuin School Idol Club television anime announced a January 10 premiere and a seven-episode run on Sunday, along with a new key visual. The episodes follow the 106th class between April and June of their school year. The anime airs first on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m., then on BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and Shizuoka Broadcasting System, with later starts on Hokkaido Broadcasting and Hokuriku Broadcasting. Nvidia detailed its RTX Spark system on a chip for Windows PCs at a technical briefing in the United States on October 8, after Microsoft, ASUS, MSI and others announced machines built around it the previous day. Nvidia calls the part RTX Spark N1X and denied the existence of a rumored lower-tier N1. Memory comes in five LPDDR5X-9400 capacities from 24GB to 128GB.

The television anime of Manimani Ononata's light novel series I Lost My Adventurer's License will debut in January 2027, with a teaser video and visual released on Thursday. Hiroki Yasumoto voices Douglas and Yuka Iguchi voices Rabi. Yuki Inaba directs at Studio Palette and also writes and oversees the series scripts, with Kaori Yoshikawa designing characters and serving as chief animation director.

The Hirayasumi television anime announced five more cast members on Tuesday: Daisuke Namikawa, Yoko Hikasa, Yume Miyamoto, Yuichiro Umehara, and television announcer Yuko Naito as narrator. Namikawa plays Hideki Noguchi, Hikasa plays Yomogi Tachibana, Miyamoto plays Akari Yokoyama, and Umehara plays Ryo Ishikawa. The anime premieres in January 2027 in Japan on NHK General, with an English release from Viz Media in 2027.

Neos will release Nintendo Switch 2 versions of two Crayon Shin-chan games on March 4, 2027, the company announced on October 13, 2026. Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi ~Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi~ and Crayon Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro both come to the system with mouse controls, 60fps display, higher resolution, an anywhere-save feature, and updated control guides. The two titles ship together in a single package, the Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi & Sumi no Machi no Shiro 2-in-1 Pack, priced at 9,900 yen including tax for Asia, with both games on one game card. Pre-orders opened on October 13. Download versions include each game separately and a bundle: the bundle is 9,900 yen, Ora Natsu is 6,580 yen, and Sumi Shiro is 6,980 yen, all tax included. Owners of the existing Switch downloads can buy the Switch 2 versions at a special price through an owner's discount.

TV Asahi's Aibou season 25 will hand the partner role from Yasufumi Terawaki as Kaoru Kameyama to Mitsuhiro Oikawa as Takashi Kobe partway through the season. The show premieres October 21, Wednesdays at 21:00, with an extended first episode, "PM Crisis." Yutaka Mizutani returns as Ukyo Sugishita, and TV Asahi will rebroadcast six selected Ukyo and Kaoru episodes from October 14.

Universal Studios Japan began selling collaboration goods featuring Osaka-Kansai Expo mascots Myaku-Myaku and Hami-Kuma on October 13. The line is sold inside the park and on the official online store, limited to park visitors. Mascot keychains cost 3,200 yen. Two keychain designs attach Myaku-Myaku's red cell part to Hami-Kuma's face, and tote bags show Myaku-Myaku wearing a T-shirt with Hami-Kuma's belly printed on it.

The 99th chapter of Yasuki Tanaka's Ghost Fixers manga on the Shonen Jump+ platform revealed on Friday the manga is ending in its next chapter. The final page incorrectly states the next and final chapter will launch on October 9, but MANGA Plus lists October 16. Tanaka launched the manga on Shonen Jump+ in March 2024. Shueisha published the seventh compiled volume on March 4.

MAGES. released a prologue movie for Shikai, an occult adventure game for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 due this winter. The video centers on "The House with the Red Roof," the ghost story the game is built around, and the opening theme sung by Kanako Ito. Nippon TV Wands released a LINE sticker set on October 9, 2026 to mark the 60th anniversary of the broadcast of Shoten, the Nippon TV variety program. Takahisa Mifune, the illustrator behind Irasutoya, drew the 24 static stickers, which include Oogiri catchphrases such as "One cushion!" and the cast's expressions. Aniplex released the first promotional video for the anime adaptation of Sumiko Arai's The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All on Friday, along with additional cast and staff credits and a January 8 premiere. CloverWorks animates the series, with Masashi Ishihama directing and Rino Yamazaki handling series composition. Kenjiro Tsuda and Tasuku Hatanaka reprise their roles from the audio drama as Jo and Narita. Yurina Amami joins as Chizuru, Fairouz Ai as Mao, and Maiko Nomura as Kanna. Akari Kito voices Aya Osawa and Mariya Ise voices Mitsuki Koga. The anime airs on NTV's FuraAni programming block at 11:00 p.m. JST, and Crunchyroll streams it as it airs. Kanna Hirayama designs the characters, and Kosuke Noma and Takayuki "Kojiro" Sasaki compose the music. The opening theme is Nirvana's 1991 song "Breed."

Crunchyroll acquired the North American and worldwide rights to The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure, the franchise's first theatrical anime film, the company announced Thursday. The deal covers every territory outside Asia, India included, and Crunchyroll will handle distribution with Sony Pictures Entertainment. No international release date is set. The film opens in Japanese theaters on December 11 with an original story from light novel author Natsu Hyuga, who writes a new mystery rather than adapting an existing volume. Norihiro Naganuma directs at TOHO Animation STUDIO. Mariya Ise joins the cast as Mu Qing. The plot sends Maomao and Jinshi to Binan-shu, a southern province ruled by the Bi clan, to return the remains of a concubine who died five years ago; pirates are hunting a treasure their late leader hid, and the funeral day brings a major incident. Season 3's first cour began in October 2026, with a second cour set for April 2027.

The Zenith Asurada AKF-S0/G from the short anime Future GPX Cyber Formula ASURADA will be released in June 2027 as part of the Cyber Formula Collection -Heritage Edition- line. The DX set, priced at 16,500 yen, includes the machine, a dedicated display case, an etching plate, a foil sticker, an acrylic block, an acrylic stand set, and a mini book. It will be sold through Premium Bandai, Yellow Submarine, and Volks.

ASUS has opened global preorders for its ProArt P14 and P16 creator laptops built around NVIDIA's RTX Spark chip, announced at IFA 2026. US pricing runs from about $2,600 (roughly 410,000 yen) for a 14-inch 18-core model to about $7,000 (roughly 1.11 million yen) for a 16-inch 128GB configuration. Shipping starts October 16. RAKUGAKI STUDIO will release "Himitsu Kagi (feat. Natori Sana)" on October 11, 2026, alongside a music video. Takafumi Sato wrote the lyrics and produced the project, with music by Sasuke Haraguchi and Shogo Nomura and vocals from Natori Sana, who works as a VTuber. The video uses illustrations and artwork by kiato, with GALLANT animating and BOLT.inc directing.

MegaHouse will release the Super Asurada 01 machine head from Future GPX Cyber Formula at roughly 1/1 scale. Imagineer will release the fishing action RPG Boku to Tsuri Nikki, developed by Yasuhiro Wada's studio Toybox, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2026. In a Game Spark interview, Wada says the game asks players to read where fish live and cast without relying on visible fish shadows, with over 100 fish species in rivers and lakes.

The 45th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits announced that Keigo Shinzo's Hirayasumi manga will end in two more chapters, with a finish on October 19 if there are no delays. The series launched in the magazine in April 2021 and has over 1.1 million copies in circulation worldwide. A live-action series premiered on NHK in November 2025, and a television anime is set for January 2027.

The 37th issue of Champion Buzz, the digital supplement to Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion, revealed on Thursday that Masume Yoshimoto will launch a new manga titled Kyo wa Kawabe de Sugoshitai (I Want to Spend the Day at the Riverbank) in the supplement's next issue on November 5. The manga follows Sawakita, who spends his lunchbreaks at the riverbank, away from work and noise, until something appears before him.

Comic Gardo's official X account announced that Jun Miura will launch a new manga on October 8. The series, Moto Shinryu, Chippoke na Ningen ni Tensei Shita Kedo Muso Shimasu, centers on a boy who awakens to a dragon's powers and uses that strength to protect his family. Miura's earlier work was the manga adaptation of Masayuki Abe's New Saga light novels, which ended in July 2023.

Earth Star Novel announced on Thursday that Yasuaki Mikami's Looks like a Job for a Maid! light novel series is getting a television anime adaptation. The story follows Nina, a maid dismissed from Count Mirkwood's household after a false accusation, who sets out on her first solo journey. Kinta illustrates the novels, which began in July 2022; the ninth volume ships on October 15. Ayahito Kumagai's manga adaptation runs on Comic Earth Star.

Toshio Masuda, the director and screenwriter who supervised the original Space Battleship Yamato television series and went on to direct several of its theatrical films, died of old age on August 26. He was 98. Mainichi Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun both reported the death. Masuda was born in Kobe in October 1927. He joined Nikkatsu in 1954, after working for Shintoho, and made his directorial debut in 1958 with Kokoro to Nikutai no Tabi. At Nikkatsu he directed Rusty Knife, Red Handkerchief, and Red Quay. He co-directed the Japanese sequences of the 1970 film Tora! Tora! Tora! and was nominated for the Best Director Award at the 4th and 13th Japan Academy Film Prizes, for The Battle of Port Arthur and Company Executives. In anime, he oversaw the scripts and supervised the 1974 Star Blazers television series, directed the 1977 Space Battleship Yamato compilation film, and worked as director and screenwriter on the 1978 film Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato, the 1979 film Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage, and the 1980 film Be Forever Yamato.

Aniplex released the 90-second final trailer for the theatrical anime Mahoyo on September 30, confirming Soujuurou Shizuki, voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi, among the cast. The same day, a special program announced the theme song: "Yoru to Ao" by supercell, with lyrics, composition, and arrangement by ryo and vocals by Yanagi Nagi. Mahoyo is based on the TYPE-MOON visual novel written by Kinoko Nasu and is animated by ufotable. The film opens in Japanese theaters on November 20, with screenings set for 347 theaters nationwide and an overseas rollout beginning with a U.S. release on January 29 that covers more than 45 countries and regions. ASUS JAPAN released six products in its ROG Edition 20 line on October 2, 2026, marking 20 years of the ROG brand. The centerpiece is the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 graphics card, priced at 1,199,800 yen including tax. It carries 32GB of video memory, a 6.67-inch 2K curved AMOLED display on its side, and a four-fan cooling setup with a vapor chamber and liquid metal. The motherboard ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20, built on AMD's X870E chipset and sold in a bundle with the ROG RYUJIN 360 Edition 20 cooler, costs 599,800 yen. ASUS also released the ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition 20 power supply, the ROG GR20 Edition 20 open-frame case, and the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 Wi-Fi 7 router. Sofmap began selling five of the models in limited quantities through its online store, with prices listed on each product page.

Universal Studios Japan will hold its Universal Cool Japan 2027 event in stages starting December 2, 2026. The first lineup announcement is a Sailor Moon collaboration tied to the park's 25th anniversary. Sailor Moon the Miracle 4-D ~Moon Palace Edition Deluxe~ returns as a theater show, and Sailor Moon x Story Ride runs for the first time. Both run December 2 to April 5, 2027. The second announcement is The Apothecary Diaries, which returns for a second USJ collaboration after 2025. Its new program runs February 10 to June 30, 2027 and is a full renewal of the 2025 Mystery Walk, tied to the film The Apothecary Diaries: The Secret Treasure of the Departed Consort, which opens December 11. Universal Studios Japan says original food and goods are planned, with details to be announced later.

Tokyo Disneyland previewed a new entertainment program, The D-Groovationz4 Live: Happy! Funky! Groovy! Tour, on September 29, 2026, ahead of its opening on September 30. The show is centered on the live vocals of the four-member dance and vocal group The D-Groovationz4 and runs about 25 minutes, performed four to five times a day. It replaces Club Mouse Beat, which ended on March 31, and is staged at the Showbase in Tomorrowland. Alongside Mickey and Minnie, Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph and Baymax from Big Hero 6 appear, marking their first stage show appearances at Tokyo Disney Resort. The set includes Disney songs with inventive arrangements plus original songs, and worlds evoking Wreck-It Ralph and Moana 2. The show also features a microphone-stand routine set to It's a Small World, and in the finale the performers change costumes and bring the audience into the closing number.
