Shoreline Games will publish Kick, a 2D side-scrolling soccer game from developer nospacelost, on November 3 for PC via Steam. The player controls a kid kicking a ball along the school commute route, using dribbling, keepie-uppies, shooting, and overhead kicks to clear benches, playground equipment, and passersby. Stages carry objectives and collectible coins that unlock ball skins.

Pre-orders for the Touken Ranbu ONLINE x THE KISS Collaboration Rings Wave 1 opened on October 9, 2026 at 19:00 on Premium Bandai and FanFunMARKET. The lineup has four silver rings, each inspired by a Touken Danshi: Mikazuki Munechika, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Kashuu Kiyomitsu, and Goke Kanemitsu. Pixomnia Studio opened the free open beta test for Airsoft Online on October 8 on PC via Steam. The build supports Japanese display and a Japanese server, and runs Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Domination, and Stronghold on indoor and outdoor maps at up to 6 vs. 6. Matches use airsoft guns, selectable BBs, and a fluid-dynamics-based physics system. The beta runs until October 26, with release planned within 2026.

Crunchyroll, HAYATE Inc., and WEBTOON Entertainment subsidiary LINE Digital Frontier have partnered on co-productions of anime adaptations for around 15 select webtoon titles, starting from the development stage. All the titles are available through LINE Digital Frontier's app, including the already announced The Boxer, The Remarried Empress, and Teenage Mercenary. Crunchyroll will stream the resulting anime in select territories.

TOMYTEC is taking pre-orders on Amazon.co.jp for a Little Armory collaboration kit tied to Dolls' Frontline 2: Exilium. The LA-DF39 Nemesis is a 1/12 scale unpainted runner kit of the OM 50 Nemesis sniper rifle carried by the T-Doll Nemesis, packed in Dolls' Frontline 2 packaging with a postcard-size display card. Prime 1 Studio opened preorders on October 8 for a 1/4-scale Reze/Bomb statue from Chainsaw Man: The Movie: Reze Arc, part of its Ultimate Premium Masterline line. The standard edition costs 187,990 yen. A DX version at 238,590 yen adds a Bom upper body, two dynamite bundles, and a bust stand. A DX Bonus version adds a right-arm part for the pin-pulling pose and is handled in Japan only through Prime 1 Studio's official online store. Preorders close December 8, with release set for around February to May 2028.

G.O.P Co., Ltd. confirmed that the PC MMORPG Icarus Online launches its official service on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The closed beta test that began September 29 ended October 6. Pre-registration stays open until just before launch, and a Pre-Character Creation Event runs from 15:00 on Friday, October 16 through 15:00 on Wednesday, October 21.

Paradox Interactive announced the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Cities: Skylines on October 8. It launches October 29 as Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition, priced at 6,890 yen with tax included, and ships with 10 DLC expansion and content packs such as After Dark, Snowfall and Green Cities. Tantalus Media, which handled past console versions, is porting it.

At The Tenth Mosaic, a game culture festival held at the Institut francais du Japon in Tokyo on September 22 and 23, Kazutaka Kodaka and Masafumi Takada discussed how Danganronpa's story and music shaped each other. Takada said he wrote the theme song "DANGANRONPA" in about 20 minutes after putting the title into the lyrics, and the Monokuma design arrived in roughly five minutes.

Touken Ranbu ONLINE will collaborate with Special Edition Oshiro EXPO in Kumamoto 2026, held October 3 and 4 at Kumamoto Castle Hall. A third-floor corner features six Touken Danshi linked to Kumamoto and Kumamoto Castle, among them Kasen Kanesada, Hotarumaru, and Doudanuki Masakuni. Toyota announced on October 6, 2026 that it will exhibit a special vehicle, the Crown Crossover x Touken Danshi Mikazuki Munechika, at the second Kyoto Station Building Art Festival, Geijutsu no Eki 2026. The Crown carries blue and gold lines and a large Mikazuki Munechika emblem on the hood. The exhibition runs October 17 to November 3, 13:00 to 20:00 daily on the first floor Station Front Plaza. More collaboration plans are to be announced.

HypeTrain Digital and Explosive Squat Games have released Intravenous 3: Borderline, a free prologue version of the top-down action game Intravenous 3. The prologue carries two full-scale missions built on the main game's core systems. Players control Gideon, a mercenary who has lost everything and wants revenge, using darkness, sound, distractions, gadgets, and the environment. Fireline Games, the two-person studio behind the plant shop simulation Leafy Corner, discussed development in a Game Spark interview. Kasia, who handled art and game design while her husband Kacper programmed, said real houseplants and real plant knowledge are the game's core. She named localization as the toughest task: finding the correct Japanese names for every houseplant in the game. Leafy Corner released for PC and Mac on July 31, supports Japanese, and costs 1,200 yen.

Crunchyroll will stream a same-day English dub for the anime of Asa Rokushima's The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life, starting Tuesday. Justin Briner leads the cast as Rein, with Hollis Beck as Lily, Lacey Deline as Nina, KyLeigh Zimmerer as Elsie and Rick Robertson as Barrius. The series premieres on TV Tokyo on Tuesday at 24:00 and on AT-X on Thursday.

G・O・P Corporation will restart the monster-raising MMORPG Icarus Online in Japan in fall 2026 on PC via Pmang, with pre-registration open until October 22. The Japan service ran from 2015 to 2022 while the game continued overseas. For the restart, Fellows, dungeons, quests, and rewards have been renewed to global standards, and a new equipment growth system replaces the old enhancement stones. A global CBT ran until October 6.

Machi Asobi vol.31 runs on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Tokushima. Ahead of the event, Tokushima Awa Odori Airport has been decorated with panels for six works. The works are Demon Slayer, whose anime series is being rebroadcast; LONA, an original anime with concept and screenplay by Akiko Nogi set to air in spring 2027; Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya FINALE, scheduled for 2027; Fate/EXTRA Record, releasing on January 28, 2027; Fate/Grand Order, described as going strong past its 10th anniversary; and Witch on the Holy Night, opening in theaters on Friday, November 20, 2026. The airport also displays image panels for Berserk of Gluttony, set to air in 2027, BanG Dream! Our Notes, released in September 2026, AnimeJapan 2027, Berserk of Gluttony, and the Palworld Official Card Game booster pack Awakened Legend, scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026. Sega pushed an update to PSO2 New Genesis ver.2 on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, adding the quest "Simulated Exercise: Large Enemy Sweep Battle '26." It runs until the start of maintenance on Wednesday, October 7 and takes up to 8 players through the outer edges of Stia against giant mutated enemies. Title Tasks, limited-time Tasks, and two revival AC Scratches also went live.

Sega implemented an update for PSO2 New Genesis ver.2 on September 23, 2026, adding the limited-time quest The Laughing Remnant of Wisdom in the Otherworld. The quest runs from September 23 at 12:00 until maintenance begins on September 30. It is a solo quest where the player fights one-on-one against Oruta Noetika, a character who appeared in the story quest The Tower Where the Shadow Sits. An ARKS Record for the quest runs at the same time, and Title Tasks and limited-time Tasks were added with rewards including Titles. Meseta Boost does not apply to this quest. Sega also changed part of the route for the limited-time quest Ice Phantom Sweep Battle on September 23, introducing new situations and combat gimmicks. The new AC Scratch, Blazing Martial '26, runs from September 23 at 12:00 until maintenance begins on October 21. It offers costumes inspired by martial arts and kenpo styles, the motion change Ride a Rappy, a new version of the Wushu Pose lobby action, and the Hand on Hip motion. Count bonuses give 10 N-Special Ability Transfer Pass Auxiliary Tickets at 12 pulls and the weapon camo *Lotos Rune at 80 pulls.

Vaka Game Magazine released DRAPLINE on September 24, 2026, ending an Early Access run on Steam that began June 30, 2025. The game costs 1680 yen including tax. Developer Kanau built it around a dragon girl named Kuu, whose default name can be changed, and who eats anything: meat, fish, rocks, iron, lava, mountains, ships, and villagers. The player raises Kuu over one in-game year to stop a calamity that arrives when that year ends. Each week is a turn in the raising phase, and food choices drive her stats. Kuu works for villagers to cover her food bills, and may ask to eat whatever she finds on the job. The official release adds a scenario called DRAGON'S DISCIPLINE and 25 TRUE endings, each with its own illustration. A soundtrack with 35 tracks is also on sale.

ArtDink announced on September 25, 2026 that A-Train 9 PRIME LINE will launch for PC on Steam on December 10 at 18,480 yen including tax. The city-development railway simulation reworks track and road laying with a new Flexible setting that generates curves and gradients at any curvature or angle, allowing long gentle curves and loop lines. Track appearance can be chosen from four types: ballast track in gray or brown, direct-fastening track, and slab track. Train consists expand to a maximum of 16 cars, up from 10, and coupled trains can run freight formations of up to 32 cars. Curved stations with curved platforms are added, along with two-lane-each-way roads. The Japanese version includes 341 vehicles from JR and private railways and about 600 structure types. ArtDink also plans a special-price campaign for owners of A-Train 9 Ver.1.0 through Ver.5.0, with details to come on Steam News and the official website.

KADOKAWA's online kuji service Kujibikido will run a second online kuji for the 20th anniversary of the TV anime The Familiar of Zero, with sales starting Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 12:00 and running to Wednesday, November 4 at 11:59. Draws cost 770 yen including tax, shipping separate. Prizes include character fine graphs using DVD and Blu-ray package illustrations, A3 clear posters, acrylic panels, acrylic keychains, and mini shikishi.

GungHo Online Entertainment is showing a playable demo of Ninjala 2: Unknown Planet at its Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth in Hall 6 at Makuhari Messe. The demo is a special build running ahead of the game's spring 2027 release. Visitors can choose between two courses: a Planet Exploration Course set in the open world with the returning ninja gum action and a boss fight, and a Photo Shooting Course where the player photographs academy characters. Those who play the demo get a chance at a Gum Gacha draw. The S prize is a Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-language, Japan-only model with a Wireless Hori Pad TURBO, awarded to one person each day. The A prize is a Gum-cchi T-shirt and the B prize is a stick balloon. Booth visitors also receive a Lucy Uchiwa fan while supplies last. Price and business model for the game are undecided.

GungHo Online Entertainment released the co-op communication game Minna de Chat Party on September 17 for Nintendo Switch 2 at 990 yen, tax included. Up to four players team up locally or online, splitting into guide and operator roles, and use the console's game chat to talk each other through three games: Suika Wari, Delivery Panic, and Ghost Hunt. A practice mode and an audience option are included.

Level-5 said it will re-upload corrected versions of some PVs shown during the LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II stream, citing AI use and human errors, with the new versions posted at the start of Tokyo Game Show 2026. The company also addressed the Yo-kai Watch 2: Hadou concept illustration, saying flagged power lines, vending machines, and rain gutters were human errors made during simplification, and that protagonist Keita's facial features differ because of differing deadlines among streaming programs.

MLMEDIA has launched early access for Rollout Inline, an aggressive inline skating game built by a solo developer who skates the sport. The simcade mixes simulation and arcade handling, with grinds, cess slides, spins, flips, air grabs, toe and heel rolls, and handplants. Three maps are playable at launch, with challenges that level maps and unlock clothing. It is on Steam for PC at 2,350 yen, and developer Michel warns players may hit bugs and crashes.

Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Pochacco, and Kuromi appear as new magic cards in a Pickup Magic Summon, each shown affected by a different monster. A Deco Collection Event unlocks a story and gives an original [R] magic card, with login bonuses, a photo collection event, a bingo event, a Sky Treasure Island event, and present campaigns running alongside.

Ryosuke Asakura launched a new manga, Evangeline Puts on Shoes (Evangeline wa Kutsu o Haku), on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ on Wednesday. The story follows Evangeline, a popular high school student and actress whose pain only Kotaro, a plain aspiring shoemaker, notices. Asakura's prior works include Anastacia no Ikita 9-kakan, Shikizaki Shimai wa Abakaretai, and Val x Love, which ran from December 2015 to March 2023.

Bushiroad opened the Steam store page for the digital trading card game Weiß Schwarz Online on September 15, 2026, and started taking wishlist registrations. The game is developed by Furyu and Lancarse and is scheduled for release in spring 2027 on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. It ships in two versions with different included titles. The Weiß Edition carries Aogiri High School, Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, The Quintessential Quintuplets, and BanG Dream! MyGO!!!!!. The Schwarz Edition carries THE IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors, Sword Art Online, Touhou Project, and BanG Dream! Ave Mujica. Support is listed for Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Spanish, and the player count is listed as one player, or one to two in online matches. A playable demo will be at the Bushiroad booth in Hall 6 of Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe.

Prime 1 Studio is taking preorders for a 1/5 scale Illyasviel von Einzbern figure from Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya, modeled on a Hiroshi Hiroyama illustration. The piece, about 35 centimeters tall and sold under the catalog number CMFKL-01, shows Illya leaping with Magical Ruby in hand. A DX version adds a second head part with a beaming smile.

Indie developer Bakuebo released MAINLINE on Steam on September 14, 2026. The game casts the player as caffeine injected into the human body, with a four-second survival window inside the blood vessels that is restored by defeating enemies. Speed rises with each kill. Clearing a stage grants one of three upgrades, carried forward across six chapters that run from the peripheral veins to the brain. EX1, EX2, and an endless stage with Steam rankings are also included.

Kano Naruse held a release event for her third DVD, Peach Line, at Sofmap Akiba Amusement Hall. The disc runs 110 minutes, distributed by Spice Visual, and covers a shoot in Kujukuri, Chiba Prefecture. Scenes include a black bunny costume, an orange bikini, a competitive swimsuit, Pilates, and a blue yukata. Naruse said she proposed several of the ideas herself.

GungHo Online Entertainment announced on September 14, 2026 that it will release the co-op shooter B.L.U.E. NOVA on PC via Steam within 2027. The game is free-to-play with in-game purchases and is a third-person PvE bullet-hell shooter that supports single-player and online co-op for up to 30 players. The setting is the planet Deval, which humanity is developing as a new home after a superflare threatens Earth in the year 2200. The development control AI EVE goes out of control, and machine weapons rebel. Players join the USF, or New World Union Special Forces, as mercenaries called Heroes and fight the machine army Singula. The main mode is Tower Raid, where up to 30 players destroy the Master Tower at the center of the battlefield. Entering a ring with allies forms a state called R.I.N.G., which lifts reload limits and activates special moves. Six-player Boss Raids and time-limited Challenges are also included.

G.O.P. Co., Ltd. began accepting pre-registrations and closed beta test participants for the PC MMORPG Icarus Online on Thursday, September 10, 2026, ahead of a service launch planned within 2026. The game ran in Japan from 2015 to 2022 and continued overseas. The revived Japanese service is based on the global version, with revamped fellows, dungeons, quests, rewards, equipment growth, and a reorganized enhancement stone system.

Bushiroad will show the first playable demo of Weiß Schwarz Online at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe. The digital card game, planned for a spring 2027 release on Nintendo Switch and Steam, will be playable at the Bushiroad booth in Hall 6. The demo covers both editions, Weiß and Schwarz, with eight announced titles across anime, games, and VTuber properties.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the 'Genesis Maidens' expansion DLC for Echoes of Aincrad during Sony's State of Play stream on September 3. The DLC launches this winter. It adds a completely new side story set on Floors 1 and 2 of Aincrad, a storyline the sources describe as not depicted in the original novels or anime. Mito, the character original to the Sword Art Online: Progressive films, joins as a new ally with combination and support skills. The expansion also introduces the Curved Sword weapon type, new quest areas, and a 'Sewing' armor enhancement system that lets players attach emblem mods to armor, including a crest that raises defense and reduces damage. Echoes of Aincrad launched in Japan on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 9, and on PC via Steam on July 10, with the Western release following on all platforms the same day. Aimer performs the game's theme song 'Live to Survive.'

Spike Chunsoft released 'Cities: Skylines Remastered Japan Special Edition' for PS5 on September 3. The publisher then announced that upgrades from the physical 'Cities: Skylines PlayStation 4 Edition' to the downloadable remaster are currently not supported, contradicting earlier notices. The upgrade had been promised for 110 yen. After checking with Paradox Interactive, Spike Chunsoft apologized and said it will keep requesting support. Upgrades from the downloadable PS4 version still work, now priced at 100 yen.

The September 2 update to PSO2 New Genesis ver.2 brings the Zundamon collaboration event "Super Zundamon Festival" running through October 7, with a login costume and voice ticket, daily scratch tickets, and a special SP scratch featuring Zundamon-themed hairstyles, weapon camos, and accessories. The update also adds the limited emergency quest "Moonlit Harvest," the 12-player "Assumed Exercise: Three-Lane Traverse Battle," and the 5th anniversary revival scratch.
